Ever felt stuck on the same level, even though you’re ready for more?

You’re not alone and it’s not always obvious how to ask for bigger tasks without sounding pushy or entitled.

Arina Drobysheva, Chief People & Operations Officer at BeInCrypto, shares practical ways to show you’re ready for the next step, plus what not to do if you want that trust (and promotion) to actually happen:

✅ How to show you’re ready to grow
▫️In your 1:1, say you’d like to grow, name your target role, share your vision for getting there, and ask what skills, results, or conditions you need to meet. Agree on a rough timeline together.
▫️Ask about team and business goals and volunteer to own relevant areas. The more interest you show in real business needs, the faster you’ll level up.
▫️Deliver tasks on time and with good quality. Fewer edits = more trust. ▫️Don’t be shy to highlight results.
Finished a course or got a new certification? Tell your manager (without turning it into a brag).
▫️Bring ideas, but be ready to own them and make them happen.
When problems come up, bring a solution. Even better? Solve it first, then share what worked.

❌ What not to do
▫️Don’t just wait for someone to magically notice your potential, speak up.
▫️Don’t demand a raise if you haven’t agreed in advance on new responsibilities.
▫️Don’t threaten to quit.
▫️Don’t tell colleagues you feel undervalued, talk to your manager first.
▫️Don’t skip your manager and go straight to HR or leadership without a heads-up.

➡️ Over to you: How do you show you’re ready for a bigger role, without being “that person”?
Share your best tips or real stories below, let’s swap what works!

Realized Extractable Value (REV): What It Is and Why It Matters in Web3

Ever heard of MEV? Then you’ll want to know what Realized Extractable Value means, especially if you plan to work in crypto.

Let’s break it down:

What Is REV? REV (Realized Extractable Value) shows the real money made from MEV: profits that validators and searchers earn by reordering or inserting transactions on a blockchain.

In simple terms:
✅ MEV = the potential profit in theory
✅ REV = the actual profit that was paid and earned on-chain

How Does It Work?
1️⃣ Where it comes from: Validators (or miners) get paid extra fees when searchers bid to get their transactions confirmed first.
2️⃣ What it includes: The profit from MEV tricks (like sandwich attacks) plus the priority fees paid to validators.
3️⃣ Why it matters: REV tells us how much real value flows through a chain after costs, not just big “what-if” numbers.

Why Do People Care About REV?
Some investors use REV to measure a blockchain’s economic activity.
▫️High REV can mean a chain is busy but it might also show inefficiencies or hype (like meme coin pumps).
▫️Big REV spikes aren’t always a sign of healthy growth, sometimes it’s just traders fighting for profit.

❗️ So Should You Trust REV?
REV is one piece of the puzzle. It shows real usage and cash flow, but it’s not a perfect way to value a chain alone.
Smart crypto professionals look at REV together with other metrics like TVL, transaction fees, and user growth to see the bigger picture.

If you want to build or work in Web3, you need to know how blockchains actually run and earn money. Metrics like REV help you read between the lines, spotting real adoption vs empty hype.

When should you really announce your new job on LinkedIn? A practical guide

Many people rush to post about their new role on Day 1. But timing your LinkedIn update isn’t just about excitement - it’s about strategy, risk, and your professional signal.

Here’s what our Vero from the Talent Team says about how to think it through step-by-step:

1️⃣First things first: Do you even use LinkedIn?
If not - relax. No pressure. But if your profile is active and your previous roles are listed, social expectations kick in. Your new company (and future recruiters) will notice whether or not you’ve updated your status.
Companies might wonder: “Why hasn’t this person listed us yet?”

➡️True story: a recruiter once double-checked if someone had actually joined because they hadn’t updated their profile weeks after starting.

2️⃣Understand the risks of posting too early
Even if you’re happy to share your news, here’s what might go wrong:
You could part ways with the company before the probation period ends.

A short-lived role on your profile - even if deleted later - stays in people's memory (especially recruiters’).
It can send the wrong signal about your stability or fit.

3️⃣ So… when is the right time? Use this 3-point checklist:
✅ You genuinely like the company: the people, the tasks, the vibe.
✅ You’re hitting your goals: no negative feedback, you're confident in your results.
✅ The company is happy with you: you’ve either received positive feedback or asked for it directly.

➡️ Pro tip: Ask your manager how they feel about your performance. Transparency goes a long way.

4️⃣Timing recommendations:
Week 1–2:
Too early. You’re onboarding, not delivering yet.
Week 4: Maybe - if results are visible and feedback is solid.
Week 6–8: Ideal window. You’ve adapted, delivered, and confirmed mutual fit.
After probation: Safest choice if you prefer peace of mind.

Unless your role is public-facing (e.g., HR, sales, brand rep), you don’t need to rush. And if there’s pressure - have an honest conversation with your team.

➡️ Bottom line:
Your job update is more than just a brag - it’s a public signal.
Make sure it’s the right signal, at the right time.

What would you do - post on Day 1 or wait it out?

Losing productivity isn’t the biggest risk in remote work, losing eye contact is.

Belinda Prins, Project Manager at BeInCrypto, shares what remote managers rarely say out loud and how AI might help us sense what we can’t see.

In remote work, we don’t lose productivity - we lose eye contact.

- Jason Fried

That line stays with me. Because it’s true. As a manager, I’ve learned that what makes remote work hard isn’t the tools, the meetings, or the timezone math. It’s the missing signals. The silence between the lines.

Sometimes, what confuses me the most isn’t when my team says, “I’m tired.”
It’s when they say nothing at all.

✅ Meetings still happen.
✅ Tasks still get done.
✅ Slack stays active. Replies are quick.

But the sentences start getting shorter:
“Noted.”
“Will do.”
“OK.”

And yet, something feels off. The vibe? Gone. No more emojis, no small talk before the call starts, no little stories at the end of the day.
It feels like working with silhouettes. They’re there, but not really present.

As a remote manager, I’ve come to realize something painful: I’ve lost my social intuition.

Back in the office, I could see it in their eyes: the fatigue, the heaviness, the spark fading.
Now? I’m left reading tone in text bubbles and guessing what silence might mean.

What if AI could help us feel what we can’t see? Not to invade privacy, not to surveil. But to gently alert me when something shifts:
▫️ A slowdown in response time
▫️ A change in writing tone
▫️ A break in rhythm

Imagine a dashboard that shows not just tasks, but tiny emotional patterns.
A system that quietly says:
▫️ “This person usually replies with warmth. Today, it’s different.”
▫️ “She’s working later and sleeping less.”
▫️ “Maybe it’s time to ask: Are you really okay?”

Because in remote work, we don’t just need AI that’s smart. We need AI that’s sensitive, that notices dead energy before it becomes burnout. One that helps us feel, not just function.

We no longer sit across the table. We don’t look into tired eyes or see slouched shoulders. We don’t see people, we read them.

Maybe it’s time we built systems that read between the lines, just like we used to, when all we had was each other’s presence.

Now it’s your turn: How do you keep the human vibe alive in remote teams — and could AI really help?
