France Continues Specialised Training of Armed Forces of Ukraine Personnel under EUMAM Ukraine in Poland
Instructors from the French Armed Forces continue to train personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) in the Republic of Poland. The French side emphasises that the training effort is focused on designated areas of specialisation that correspond to the actual needs of Ukrainian units.
The training covers three key components. The first is combat skills, including infantry and artillery training: weapons training, operating as part of combat teams and crew cohesion. The second is combat casualty care: hands-on practice in haemorrhage control, casualty assessment and casualty evacuation under conditions replicating combat as closely as possible. The third is sustainment and maintenance: learning to repair and keep in serviceable condition the weapons and military equipment provided by partners, including French-made artillery systems.
The combat experience that the Defence Forces of Ukraine gain every day in countering russia’s armed aggression makes the training mutually enriching and shapes partner nations’ approaches to modern warfare. The joint work of Ukrainian soldiers and French instructors strengthens both Ukraine’s defence capability and the collective security of the entire Euro-Atlantic area.
