⚡️▶️🇮🇱 — Hamas political bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to hold a direct meeting to establish a national program and achieve unity, followed by talks among Palestinian factions to rebuild national institutions, beginning with the Palestine Liberation Organization. He said Hamas had agreed to participate in legislative and National Council elections and that talks with factions and Palestinian figures had produced an electoral alliance whose lists are being prepared, while the alliance remains open to other Palestinian components; Hamas also proposed a single national list, although some factions oppose the idea — Al Araby interview.

Al-Hayya said the elections should reinforce the political and geographic unity of Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and that the alliance should remain open even if the vote is postponed, with any delay used to advance national reconciliation.

➡️ On the Gaza agreement and its next phase, al-Hayya said Hamas is ready to implement the roadmap it accepted as an integrated package and enter detailed discussions on its implementation and timetable, while calling for stronger international efforts to compel Israel to fulfill it. He said Hamas accepted the roadmap presented by Nikolay Mladenov and the mediators after months of talks; according to al-Hayya, it begins with completing the first phase agreed in Sharm el-Sheikh in October and ultimately provides for Palestinian statehood and self-determination, with the intervening agenda covering weapons, a Palestinian government, an international force, Israeli withdrawal and civil peace.

He rejected any partial implementation, said Mladenov was making efforts but needed greater international backing, and accused the Israeli government of prolonging the war by rejecting previous opportunities for an agreement and targeting negotiators, which he said had also contributed to the deaths of Israeli captives. He also said ending the Israeli offensive, achieving national unity and providing relief to Gaza were the immediate priorities.

➡️ Al-Hayya described the continuing Israeli campaign as the main challenge facing Palestinians, saying it had reached the level of genocide and that settlement activity, house burnings and raids in the West Bank, along with attacks on Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, were no less serious than the campaign in Gaza.
