A crime-fighting camera network is facing growing scrutiny after allegations that some police officers used it to track people for personal reasons. Investigators found that at least 50 law enforcement officers have been accused or suspected of misusing license plate reader systems, including technology made by Flock, to monitor former partners, acquaintances and other individuals without a legitimate policing purpose. The findings have renewed concerns about privacy, oversight and how powerful surveillance tools are being used. Sometimes the biggest risk isn't the technology itself-it's who has access to it.
