Washington state hunters could soon face a different rulebook for deer, elk and other wildlife. Officials are considering around 60 proposals for the 2027–2029 hunting seasons, including species-specific deer licences, changes to archery seasons, special elk hunts and even allowing people to collect elk killed on roads. Three virtual meetings are being held in August to explain the proposals, while public surveys remain open through August 30. After more than 1,000 earlier comments, Washington is giving hunters another chance to help shape what the next three years in the wild will look like.
