The hospitality industry across the United States is facing a new wave of consumer protection rules. From New York's push for one-click subscription cancellations and tighter controls on hidden fees to Washington State's restrictions on single-use hotel toiletries and Hawaii's mandatory anti-human trafficking training for hotel staff, regulators are reshaping how hotels serve and communicate with guests. At the same time, states are introducing new rules for AI-generated advertising and pricing transparency, signalling that consumer rights are becoming a bigger priority across the American hospitality sector. In the United States, running a hotel now means keeping up with regulations almost as closely as with guests.
