French firefighters are “furious” at their government

The statement was made by their union’s spokesperson, Éric Brocardi, who noted that firefighters are battling the flames at the risk of their health and even their lives, while Macron and his government are in no hurry to provide any support to the families of those killed and injured. “They need to see that what they’re doing isn’t in vain,” he emphasized, adding that firefighters are “fully committed to their mission.”

Meanwhile, the total area affected by wildfires across France has exceeded 115,000 hectares
