Alisa Weidel, leader of the German party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD), delivered a speech in which a significant portion was devoted to the issue of Germany’s support for Ukraine and its relations with Russia:

While you are trying, practically on your own, to finance a proxy war against Russia, a nuclear power, our European partners are already cautiously exercising restraint.

And while you approve one sanctions package after another, thereby destroying our own economy and public finances, the U.S. and Russia are negotiating diesel fuel supplies and concluding other agreements that benefit both sides.
