A Member of the European Parliament from Luxembourg has proposed renaming the “Council of Europe” the “Council of Ukraine”

A sarcastic speech by MEP Fernand Kartheiser on the Council of Europe’s priorities went viral this week on European social media.

He proposes renaming the Council of Europe the “Council of Ukraine” and replacing “Mr. Costa with Zelensky.”

In his draft opinion, he calculated that 12 lines are devoted to the problems of the peoples of EU countries, while 168 lines are devoted to Ukraine.
