TECH NEWS | BATTERIES DESIGNED TO LAST 30 YEARS

EnerVenue is set to begin mass production of nickel-hydrogen batteries in China on September 24. Unlike batteries in phones, these are designed for large-scale energy storage, with an expected service life of 30 years.

The goal: store renewable electricity for use when demand rises. Longer-lasting batteries could reduce replacement needs—but the 30-year figure is a design expectation, not decades of proven commercial operation.
