Elon Musk says Tesla and SpaceX will build and operate Terafab — a massive chip manufacturing complex planned for Texas. Intel will remain involved, while TSMC may lease part of the facility.

The project could give Musk’s companies greater control over the chips needed for autonomous vehicles, robots, AI systems and future spacecraft.
