TECH NEWS | MORE PHONE MEMORY, LOWER COSTS?
China’s CXMT says its newest memory-chip platform has entered mass production.
Its new smartphone RAM chips offer 50% more capacity than previous models. The company also says the manufacturing platform delivers at least 50% more chips per wafer.
That could bring cheaper memory and stronger competition for Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron — although lower phone prices aren’t guaranteed.
