October 14, 2026
Thai authorities on Monday rescued seven trafficked Myanmar children in Bangkok who were forced to sell flowers until 4 a.m. daily. The raid, codenamed Protecting Rosebuds, was carried out by the Department of Provincial Administration in Saphan Sung district. Four suspects were arrested.
Officials said the children had been smuggled into Thailand via Mae Sot on the Karen State border and subjected to forced labor, physical abuse and sexual assault. They were made to sell flowers and small items late into the night, with proceeds taken by their traffickers.
