❗️Iran security chief rejects Bessent's economic pressure claims as 'delusional'

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei has rejected recent comments by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Washington’s economic pressure campaign against Tehran, saying Iran will not yield to threats or pressure over the Strait of Hormuz. "Hormuz will not be opened by threats or pressure. Iran will not back down," Rezaei wrote on social media.

Bessent said Monday that "Operation Economic Outcast," Washington’s campaign to isolate Iran’s global sources of income, was delivering results. According to Bessent, the campaign has targeted Iran’s oil revenues and international financial and trade links as part of wider US pressure on Tehran.

Rezaei dismissed what he called “Bessent’s delusional forecasts," saying they “never had any credibility in the first place." He added: "You lost the military war. You will fail in the economic war, too."
