❗️Israeli university lecturer indicted over alleged plot to kill hundreds of Palestinians

A mathematics lecturer at Bar-Ilan University has been indicted on charges of preparing a terrorist act, extortion by threats and obstruction of justice over an alleged plan to kill Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank in an effort to drive them from the country, prosecutors said Monday.

According to the indictment, the man, who is in his 60s and from the Jewish colony of Petah Tikva, began developing the plan in February 2023 and called it "AIT", an acronym for "the nation will do transfer."

Prosecutors allege that he envisioned coordinated attacks on Arab communities and mixed cities involving 72 Jewish attackers divided into 12 cells, with footage of the attacks intended to spread fear and encourage Palestinians to leave.

The indictment also alleges that he sought the involvement of Zehut leader Moshe Feiglin, attending two of his events and attempting to arrange a meeting in the hope that Feiglin would help recruit others. Feiglin did not respond to his requests, according to prosecutors.
