🗣 In his speech, the Russian Foreign Minister touched on the region twice. He supported the kidnapped president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and called for the immediate lifting of the North American energy blockade on Cuba. These two most outrageous examples of the Northern Empire's interference in the affairs of Latin America cannot be silently accepted by Russia.

🇷🇺 In recent years, Moscow has lost many regional partners while trying to maintain neutrality on issues of the domestic politics of Latin American countries. Suffice it to recall Argentina's refusal to join BRICS or the very recent accession of the Mesoamerican trio to a statement condemning Russia's actions in Ukraine. Russia's positions and its development along the Global South vector are supported only by local left-wing parties that place sovereignty above all. Russia's attempts to establish dialogue with right-wing regimes will always be limited by the will of the American purses that control them.
