Branimir Maleš on the White Race
- Branimir Maleš
On Human Races, year 1936.
The old, who were simpler, who thought they had solved everything and that everything was clear to them, and who were therefore much more satisfied than we are, wrote in their books, and more or less believed, that God had created man in His own image; and all races and all kinds of people, both blacks, yellows, and whites, they called by one name: Homo sapiens. And the skin color of the Chosen People was white. This classification was, indeed, both the simplest and the most accurate. Truth is always hidden in the simplest things...
Thus, the white man, as the ‘chosen,’ ‘most evolutionary’ race, viewed the world and determined its values by taking himself as the starting point. Therefore, let us not be surprised if science, too, followed this path. When the white man established that he differed from other ‘colored’ peoples by skin color, he singled himself out and classified all people according to the color of their skin.
