For the blood that flows in the veins of all of you is not some dubious fluid, but the blood of the powerful and fresh Slavic race, the blood of youth and noble blood. Your blood is not of any dubious or low origin - you inherited it from the Holy Emperor, who fell on Kosovo as the last defender of Serbian and Balkan freedom, and from the Great Emperor (Dušan), in whose footsteps we walk when we walk in this city (Skopje), from where he ruled the entire Christian Balkans, with justice and freedom.
- St. Nikolaj Velimirović
"Above Sin and Death", year 1914.
