Researchers developed Nano-ERASER, a nanoparticle system that crosses the blood-brain barrier and converts astrocytes into functional neurons by degrading the PTBP1 protein without altering DNA. In human brain organoids and mouse Alzheimer's models, the treatment restored neural circuits, reduced neuroinflammation and amyloid-beta accumulation, increased neuron density, and improved memory and learning, highlighting a promising regenerative approach for Alzheimer's disease.
