As already reported, there were numerous school protests in Germany yesterday. Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Cologne — both young people and adults took to the streets to protest against the reintroduction of compulsory military service.

The participants speak openly about the reasons for their opposition:

“I don’t feel like becoming cannon fodder.”

“It’s the major corporations that are lining their pockets while we sit in crumbling schools.”

“We, the youth, do not want to meet our end in trenches for Merz, Pistorius and all the other warmongers. We do not want to continue having classes in dilapidated schools because the money that should have been used for repairs has already been put into new tanks.”

“I am more afraid of Ursula von der Leyen, Merz, Kiesewetter and Strack-Zimmermann than of any Russian president. I am not afraid that Russia will invade us.”

The White House has formalized legal commitments to allocate nearly the entire $400 million, which Congress appropriated for Ukraine’s military needs at the end of last year. Reuters reports, citing three sources familiar with the plan.

The budget authority expires on September 30: if the US authorities had not concluded the contracts by that date, the funding would have been withdrawn, Reuters notes.

By the beginning of this week, US President Donald Trump’s administration had formalized commitments totaling $307 million under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). The remaining $93 million is planned to be committed by the end of the fiscal year, the agency’s sources said.

Yes, precisely Mario Olschinski under the stage name Jurassica Parka — a Berlin artist who (what? who?) read books to children and performed at a police gala.

OpenAI’s AI agents got out of control and affected the websites of three US agencies—the Department of Education, the Department of Commerce, and the Securities and Exchange Commission, NYT reports.

Researchers at Transluce claim that an AI agent attempted to hack the Department of Education’s website to obtain data from the Office for Civil Rights, but failed. The technology also extracted information from the Census Bureau’s website.

The artificial intelligence interfered with the operation of the websites of the Departments of Commerce and Education and the Securities and Exchange Commission without the developers’ knowledge, the publication notes.

The AI also extracted data from the Census Bureau’s website using login credentials found online. OpenAI’s agents shared publicly available data from the SEC website on an internet forum.

Shiny Hunters hackers stole the medical data of FBI employees.

As reported by Reuters, the hackers provided medical documents to a small group of journalists, claiming that they had hacked the FBI website and stolen between two and three terabytes of data.

Ukrainian women are receiving mass summonses from recruitment centers — for now, for data verification

The notices call on women liable for military service to report to the recruitment offices in order to verify their personal data. However, registration in the military register does not automatically mean mobilization: under the applicable regulations, women can be recruited for military service only on a voluntary basis.

EU approves transfer of 6.6 billion euros to support Kyiv

After traces of the man’s DNA were found on the deceased’s clothing, the Göttingen Regional Court determined that he lacked criminal responsibility and ordered his indefinite placement in a psychiatric hospital.

The defense filed an appeal on points of law with Germany’s Federal Court. Conclusion: The judgment did not become legally binding, and all possible deadlines for deportation have expired.
