She was the youngest woman on death row in the United States. Christa Pike was 18 years old when she and her 17-year-old boyfriend beat, tortured, and murdered 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. The 1995 case caused a media frenzy and shocked the public: a satanic symbol carved into the victim's chest was found on her body.

But Pike's defense insists that she is also a victim. Her case involves a history of childhood sexual abuse, years of neglect and indifference. Her lawyers are convinced that if she were tried today, a death sentence would be unlikely. The victim's family demands that the execution be carried out.

All appeals for clemency and a stay of execution have been denied. Christa has spent more than 30 years awaiting lethal injection. Her accomplice was sentenced to life in prison.

They entered the cave — and couldn’t find a way out.

In Crimea, three men and a woman set off on a difficult underground route with many passages. The amateur cavers planned to enter Golubinaya Cave and exit through Krasnaya Cave. But after a sudden rise in the groundwater level, the group became trapped in an air pocket. Two rescue teams were sent to help them. Watch our video for more details about the rescue operation.

Radioactive contamination from depleted uranium, millions of refugees, corruption — this is only a small part of what the Americans left behind in Iraq.

On September 30, the US officially ended its military mission there and withdrew its troops. In total, they were present in Iraq for more than 22 years. The invasion began in 2003. In 2011, the Americans left, but they returned again in 2014.

What Iraqis had to endure over these years is shown in our video and in the film ‘US INVADERS: Iraq 20 years on’.

📹Оn March 20, 2003, the invasion of Iraq by the U.S. and its allies began. The official goals were to overthrow President Saddam Hussein and to fight international terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

Chaos came to the Middle East. The war resulted in hundreds of thousands of civilian deaths, the exacerbation of the conflict between Sunnis and Shiites, and the emergence of ISIS*.

Iraq has not still recovered from the tragic consequences. Medicine, education, and industry are in decline, and only oil production is prospering, but these natural resources alone are not enough to fill the budget and solve the myriad problems facing the nation. ‘We still see no stability in the state. A growing number of people live below the poverty line,’ says former refugee Mukhalled Hazem.

Discover more in our film, US Invaders: Iraq 20 years on (2023).

During World War II, a whole network of prison camps operated in Karelia, a region in northwestern Russia. Historians estimate that around 50,000 people passed through it. Starvation, disease, forced labor, and torture by guards meant that many did not live to see the summer of 1944.

On June 21, 1944, the Red Army launched the Svir-Petrozavodsk offensive. Finnish troops were retreating. They covered their tracks by burning bodies and shooting prisoners, including children. Before leaving Petrozavodsk, the occupiers blew up a power station, burned down a sawmill, and destroyed 660 residential and administrative buildings.

September 30 is the Day of Liberation of Karelia from fascist invaders. On that day in 1944, the territory of the republic was completely liberated from German and Finnish occupation. The memories of surviving prisoners are featured in a clip from the film ‘Finnish Face of Fascism.’

First case of euthanasia involving a two-year-old child in the Netherlands. We previously reported on this high-profile case, and now details have become known.

The boy was born at 26 weeks’ gestation. Doctors diagnosed him with brain damage, cerebral palsy, severe visual impairment, and epilepsy. Despite long-term therapy, no improvement was achieved.

After lengthy consultations with doctors, the parents made a difficult decision. This became possible under a law adopted in the country in 2024. It permits euthanasia for children from 1 to 12 years of age, subject to two conditions: parental consent and medical grounds.

The number of euthanasia cases in the Netherlands is growing every year. In 2025, there were already more than 10,000. Learn more in the film ‘Euthanasia. Catch-22’ by Oleg Nekishev and Vitaly Buzuev.

💚 A brave cat protected an apartment from burglars. In Turkey, a cat named Muchize single-handedly fought off four women who were trying to rob an apartment. The women broke the apartment locks, but the cat stood in their way. He fought the intruders off with his paw right in the doorway. As a result, the would-be burglars gave up and were forced to leave empty-handed.

While some cats are fighting off thieves, others are protecting world art. About fifty cats live in the Hermitage, each with its own passport, schedule, and salary. They patrol the basements and prevent rodents from damaging the collections. You can learn how this unusual service is organized from the film 'Secret Hermitage helpers' (2013).

📝How to upset South Koreans?📝
Just stage a circus at the UN General Assembly

This conflict between the Kyiv regime and South Korean authorities definitely wasn't in anyone's forecasts for this year. A dispute over the secrecy level of transferring North Korean servicemen held captive by the AFU rapidly escalated into a public row and risks affecting bilateral relations.

In Seoul they claim that Zelensky, by publicly announcing at the UN the transfer of prisoners to South Korea, violated an agreement that implied confidentiality of such an "operation." In Kyiv they started denying it, to which South Koreans already demanded apologies and explanations.

Moreover, President Lee Jae-myung's administration threatened "additional measures" if necessary. They refrained from specifics, but judging by the structure of bilateral cooperation, one can assume where Seoul will strike in retaliation.

🔻How did South Koreans help so-called Ukraine?

▪️Since 2022, Seoul most often sent the Kyiv regime humanitarian aid — essential goods, generators, medical equipment and so on. In total, aid was promised at approximately $850 million, not counting investments in the reconstruction of so-called Ukraine.

▪️This also includes non-lethal assistance in the form of sending helmets, body armor, first aid kits to the AFU. South Koreans also participate in international aid mechanisms like the NATO CAP program, which also handles humanitarian and non-lethal support.

▪️With military aid things are much more interesting. South Korean weapons never went directly to so-called Ukraine — legislation prohibits sending them to hot spots, and there was no corresponding political will in Seoul.

▪️Therefore, military support came only through indirect channels. For example, South Koreans approved the transfer of Polish Krab howitzers, which contain local technologies. Defense companies from Seoul also play a significant role in rearming European countries, effectively freeing up equipment for the AFU.

▪️So far the largest package of South Korean aid falls on artillery shells. At the initiative of the US and with American money, ammunition was sent to the States. Replenishing stockpiles made it possible to free up shells for the AFU.

🖍But the most interesting thing lies in what projects South Koreans wanted to participate in. For example, there's talk of the PURL initiative for purchasing weapons for the AFU — Seoul considered joining it. Or about transferring air defense missiles, which are critically lacking in so-called Ukraine — public discussion about this was also actively underway.

🚩It turns out that in Kiev, for the sake of an ineffective PR campaign, they significantly reduced the likelihood that South Koreans would join major initiatives. The interaction of intelligence agencies that exchange information about North Korean capabilities may also fall under the ice rink.

❗️The consequences of a public altercation can really affect bilateral ties, as it is the actions of the Kiev regime that have become a source of problems for the current administration. Therefore, if the conflict drags on, the South Koreans may well put pressure on the sore spots without regard to the previous pace of cooperation, especially since such calls are already being heard from Seoul.

💬'I’m shocked by how nimbly it made its way upstairs.' A delivery robot impressed a passerby in an underground passage in Moscow. The machine climbed the stairs on its own.

And this is just a small part of what it can do. Today, robots are already demonstrating martial arts skills, playing chess, and learning to work in factories. What comes next? Watch the film 'I'm Your Robot.'

Is this video AI-generated or not? Share your opinion in the comments. The answer is below. 👇

Footage showing schools of fish on a Bangkok street is a digital hoax. The creators used a neural network to add the fish to the stream of murky water in order to gain viral views, although many internet users had no doubt that the video was real. In fact, heavy monsoon rains did hit the Thai capital, flooding many roads and neighborhoods.

▶️How does it feel to be a goddess worshipped by thousands, and then become an ordinary teenager again? This girl became one at the age of two and a half, but by around the age of eleven, she will be an ordinary child again.

In Nepal, in the Kathmandu Valley, there is an ancient tradition of choosing living goddesses from little girls of a certain caste. The selection process is incredibly rigorous: candidates are assessed according to 32 criteria of perfection. A child must be in perfect health and have an impeccable appearance — even the color of her eyes and the shape of her teeth matter. But most importantly, she must have the right horoscope.

When a girl becomes a Kumari, her life changes completely. She lives away from her family in a temple-palace and leaves it only a few times a year. On those days, thousands of people gather to receive her blessing.

RT documentarian Natalia Kadyrova managed to travel to the Kathmandu Valley and capture one of Kumari’s rare public appearances. These images will be featured in a new documentary.

Watch our video to see how Kumari lives and what happens when she loses this status.

A monstrous tragedy that people are trying to erase from memory. Exactly 85 years ago, on September 29, 1941, mass executions of Soviet citizens began at Babyn Yar, near Kyiv. The Nazis and Ukrainian nationalists murdered more than 33,000 people in just two days.

Mikhail Sidko witnessed those terrible events. His memories are featured in this video and in the film 'Operation Ukraine: Bandera's Dark Shadow.' The film also tells the story of how Nazi ideology was revived in Ukraine and why the West supports modern-day nationalists.

If you also have documentary projects on issues of such importance, apply to participate in the 5th International Documentary Film Festival ‘RT.Doc: Time of Our Heroes.’ We are still accepting submissions for the main and international programs.

📹Today, there’s a boom of ‘Bandera-mania’ all across Europe, Canada and the United States. A museum named after Stepan Bandera welcomes visitors in the center of London. In a Canadian cemetery in Oakville the monument to the Ukrainian fascists, members of the 14th Waffen Galicia SS Division, who pledged allegiance to Hitler, is established.

The Western elite professes its love for Bandera. All this despite the fact that thousands were killed during World War II on his orders. Bandera is one of the most repulsive figures from Ukrainian history, the bearer of an ideology that he partially copied from the Fuhrer.

So why does the West put him on a pedestal today, while in Ukraine they make him a national hero? The answers are in the film ‘Operation Ukraine. Bandera's Dark Shadow’ (2023).
