Radioactive contamination from depleted uranium, millions of refugees, corruption — this is only a small part of what the Americans left behind in Iraq.

On September 30, the US officially ended its military mission there and withdrew its troops. In total, they were present in Iraq for more than 22 years. The invasion began in 2003. In 2011, the Americans left, but they returned again in 2014.

What Iraqis had to endure over these years is shown in our video and in the film ‘US INVADERS: Iraq 20 years on’.
