After our yesterday’s detour into the realm of quintessential postmodernism, let us get back on the road through modernism. This time, the change of direction should not make you dizzy because a) references to Ancient Egypt are still fresh in our memory and b) we will talk about Josef Frank, who was one of the early modernists, but, contrary to the prevalent discourse of the time, preached a friendly and more humane type of modernism, much less puritanic, functional, pragmatic, and standardized.
