​​Why does a man need authority?

A man always needs internal reference points. Since childhood, boys are constantly associating themselves with someone. Borrowing someone else's images is one of the stages of the accumulation of personal competence. Ideal, of course, when the father becomes the authority. If he turns out to be wise and clever, then he can at a very early age instill in the child the necessary patterns of a strong personality with which it will be much easier to live.

But very often it happens that the father is either absent in the upbringing or absent in the child's life altogether. And then it turns into an independent job. And at what age a man begins to work through these patterns - it already depends on the circumstances, which will determine the authority. A man's way of life, views and behavior will often depend on the leaders that he will try to be like.

That is, if the man is led by bad examples, he is likely to hang around from coast to coast, wandering periodically in his own desires, goals, and needs. This can be the beginning of addictions as well as choosing the wrong interests in life. And this will be repeated until the man either finally burns out or meets on the way a strong mentor, who will become an inner guide.

And when we talk about authority, we do not mean flawless obedience to someone. Serving someone and learning from someone are not the same thing. Again, in terms of the rules of nature, this role is always held by the father, our first and foremost mentor. But life is multifaceted and there are situations when the father fails in this role and the need remains. And then we try to compensate for this emptiness through other people.

Mothers, sisters, grandmothers and other women in our lives will not cope with this role either. Women, because of their physiological characteristics, are very concerned about the safety of their children. And boys need the freedom of choice to make their own decisions. For the same reason, men need to learn to communicate with children, to be that inner guide and teacher for them. That way we can influence and lead society.
