🇨🇦 Carney fast-tracks what Ottawa already admitted harms B.C.

The sharpest part is right in the paperwork: Ottawa and B.C. already approved Roberts Bank Terminal 2 while admitting it would cause adverse environmental effects, then slapped on 370 federal conditions, 16 provincial ones, and called it justified. Now Mark Carney wants to brand it national interest so the same federal machine can speed past more review and even gain room to dodge Species at Risk Act obstacles, as reported. That is not principled governance. That is regime convenience with legal garnish.

And yes, Canada needs ports, trade capacity, and less dependence on the U.S. But notice the Liberal formula: bury the country under ideology for a decade, then declare emergency sovereignty powers when the bill arrives. Carney is throwing $10 billion at a project sold as adding nearly 50 per cent capacity and $100 billion in annual trade throughput, while pretending this is a clean national strategy rather than another Ottawa power grab. They spent years worshipping process, DEI, and climate theatre. Now they want exemptions, shortcuts, and applause.
