Turkish occupiers are conducting further deforestation within the mountains of the Kurdistan Region.

Under the premise of combating the PKK, Turkish forces are establishing military bases in the area; these bases are accompanied by deforestation efforts to facilitate construction and ensure the security of the bases.

Turkey is currently carrying out deforestation in the mountains of Kesta village in the Berwari Bala region of Duhok province.

Note: The Turkish occupation carried out deforestation in Afrin as well. Wherever they go, destruction follows.
