KNK conference in Brussels calls for Kurdish representation at the UN

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) held a conference in Brussels on Kurdish international representation and status, attended by Kurdish political representatives, academics and international legal experts.

The conference discussed securing observer status for the Kurds at the United Nations, strengthening joint Kurdish diplomacy and establishing a common position across the four parts of Kurdistan.

Its final declaration called for the Kurds to be recognized as a nation, granted UN observer status, and for a committee and mass petition campaign to be established toward that goal.
