📌 Tehran, IRNA – President Masoud Pezeshkian, while ceremoniously launching the start of the new academic year for Iranian universities and higher education institutions, has honored top performers in this year’s university entrance exams.
In a ceremony held at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran on Monday morning, Pezeshkian, in addition to honoring the national entrance exam toppers, also honored Fahimeh Hashemitabar — a student at Sharif University of Technology — who lost both of her parents in Israeli attacks on Iran.
Attendees included Minister of Science, Research and Technology Hossein Simaei, Health Minister Mohammad-Reza Zafarghandi, and head of Leader’s representative office in universities, Mostafa Rostami, as well as university presidents, professors, several members of parliament, and students.
Earlier, the President inaugurated an exhibition featuring selected works from the Seventh Disaster and Accident Photography Competition that was held under the theme “Standing for Iran (War Does Not End with the Last Bullet Fired)” and focused on the Third Imposed War.
During his address, Pezeshkian stressed the need for leveraging the potential of universities and experts to deal with domestic challenges, highlighting the motto "I cannot, but we can," and arguing that problems can be solved through multifaceted and progressive approach.
He stated that the country’s elites, students, and all those determined to live with dignity must not bow their heads and surrender to circumstances, rather keep striving to acquire the wisdom and capabilities needed to resolve problems.
Calling the need for the distribution of responsibilities, Pezeshkian recalled that he delegated his authority to provincial governors during the war to make the management more solid and transparent.
Let us join hands, rise up for the honor and pride of this country, and strive to resolve our homeland’s challenges, provided we have faith in one another’s abilities, trust in the younger generation, he emphasized, adding that Iranian are in no way inferior to others, but only their perspective needs adjustment.
