🔍Pickaxe Mountain: top secret Iranian nuclear facility or latest pretext for US-Israeli aggression?

⚛️Anglosphere media and Washington think tanks can’t stop talking about Pickaxe Mountain – an alleged underground nuclear facility built into the Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La mountain range right beside (~1.5 km from) the Natanz uranium enrichment site.

➡️NYT cited Pickaxe Mountain, and Iran’s supposed refusal “to give international inspectors access to that site,” as one of the reasons for a possible new round of fighting with Israel in a report on Sunday.

➡️The neoliberal Center for Strategic & International Studies published a satellite photo-based analysis on Pickaxe Mountain in October, alleging that construction of the facility began in 2020, and intensified to include a security perimeter fence, tunnels and portals, after US strikes on Natanz in June.

➡️CSIS speculates Pickaxe Mountain may be a new centrifuge assembly plant, a metallurgy site, or a “clandestine uranium enrichment facility.”

➡️The think tank’s analysis follows a similar report by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) the same month, which also sounded the alarm about “continuing construction activities” at the site, and speculated Iran could concentrate its nuclear program there following June’s US attacks.

📌Pickaxe Mountain’s characterization as a secret nuclear site separate from Natanz was first reported by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), a France and Albania-HQed group allied to the MEK, a notorious terrorist ‘resistance’ movement responsible for thousands of killings inside Iran, and linked to the CIA and the Mossad.

🔍So, does Iran really have a secret site right beside its main uranium enrichment facility that it’s somehow managed to hide from the IAEA through all these years, and which it plans to use to develop nuclear weapons? Probably not. But if US and Israeli attacks continue, it might just be tempted to build one. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
