Veteran journalist Elijah Magnier told Rachel Blevins that Iran does not need to defeat the US militarily. It only needs to deny Washington control and keep raising the economic cost of the conflict.
💬 “People are suffering the cost of Donald Trump’s war,” Magnier said, arguing that Iran has shown the Strait of Hormuz cannot simply be declared safe or under US control.
He also poured cold water on Trump’s much-hyped Russian diesel deal, saying the roughly 2.2 million barrels amount to only around 14 hours of US consumption.
💬 “The prices are not going to shift unless Donald Trump stops the war.”
Magnier argued that Trump is unlikely to simply implement the existing Iran MoU, warning that Tehran is prepared to keep applying pressure rather than accept unilateral US demands.
💬 “The United States is not a fair player… It is the aggressor.”
