🚀 Wealth Management 101 with Akram Mukhamatkulov

Join us for a masterclass on wealth management and residence planning with Akram Mukhamatkulov, Head of the Representative Office of Henley & Partners in Uzbekistan!

Akram has over ten years of experience in migration policy and investment migration industry. He has also held senior government positions in Uzbekistan, including roles at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, State Assets Management, Agency for Information and Mass Communications and others.

He studied at the American University in Central Asia, Central European University, University of Oslo, and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.

We will discuss how global HNWIs plan and oversee: wealth management, residence planning, tax optimisation, inheritance planning, investment diversification and hedging risk in a constantly changing world..

The goal is to understand how individuals and families can grow and protect their wealth across generations while remaining tax-efficient.

💡 Introducing Central Asian Youth Health Innovation Conference 2026

This September, we're launching the CAYHIC 2026: a free, fully online conference connecting students across Central Asia with international researchers and healthcare professionals.

Running September 28–October 7, CAYHIC is open to university students and high schoolers (grades 10–11) from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan studying medicine, public health, and related health sciences.

The program includes expert-led sessions, live Q&A, a Health Innovation Challenge, and a certificate for participants, conducted in English (~IELTS 6.0 or equivalent).

In collaboration with Central Asian University, CANA School, and Freshman Research Institute.

Last Sunday, InterSTEM and Freshman Research Institute held its first ever astro-night event.

🔭 Our students stargazed under the night sky and got hands-on experience with the astronomical equipment. They learned all about a telescope’s structure which helped us explore the universe.

🎉 Congratulations to Markhamatkhon Mukhamedova on her acceptance to Istituto Marangoni!

A high school graduate from Interhouse Lyceum, she will pursue fashion and design at Istituto Marangoni, an elite Italian academy. 

Markhamatkhon earned a Diploma with Honours and received a full scholarship to HSE University's design program, was recognised as an Awardee of the International Youth Olympiad 2026 in Design and placed third in the International Competition of Fine and Decorative Arts Seasons.

🎨 Outside of academics, she volunteered at orphanage #22 in Tashkent, leading creative workshops for children, supported jump rope competitions at MDIS Tashkent, and actively volunteered for Lyceum events throughout her high school years.

Markhamatkhon created Anachronism, a street wear collection combining traditional Uzbek culture with modern design. She also has two fashion illustrations series called ‘Dongfeng’, which was inspired by ancient Chinese architecture and clothing, and ‘Athens’, which was drawn from Ancient Greek architecture and columns. Her visual research project, called Heaven and Hell, explored how different cultures depicted the afterworlds throughout history.

Recently, we welcomed Sherzod Khoshimov, Head of Korzinka B2B, to have a fascinating conversation about how digital platforms attract our attention scientifically. 

💡Sherzod’s expertise in neuroeconomics and innovation opened up the interesting mechanisms behind digital engagement. Sherzod and our students explored what happens in our brains when we interact with social platforms and why they’re designed to be so addictive.

🎉 Congratulations Nodira Tillayeva!

Nodira, one of our senior STEM mentors at the Freshman Research Institute, has been recognized as a finalist in the Women In Tech Awards, which is active across 65 countries, under the Global Leadership category. Placing her among the top 5 in the Caucasus and Central Asian region!

She recently completed her master's degree in electrical engineering at Nagoya University and now works as a researcher at the Ubiquitous Computing lab. At Nagoya, she developed a BIES, which is a satellite foundation model that fuses remote sensing imagery with human mobility data.

As a researcher, she has published as a first author in Infectious Disease Modelling on mobility datasets for population health modelling, in ACM Transactions on Spatial Algorithms and Systems on urban embeddings, and with Uzbek colleagues in Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics on long-term meteorological statistics at the Maidanak Astronomical Observatory.

Nodira’s work spans across space technologies, where she worked at the Space Agency of Uzbekistan and the Research Institute of Astronomy.

Outside of research, she is involved in community projects such as UNISAT, Technovation, and Google Developer groups, where she brings the same energy of leadership to our students at Freshman!

🌟 We are inspired by Nodira’s progress and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll continue to make in the global tech industry!

📝 Meet Cila Warncke, our new Senior Admissions Mentor !

Cila is a senior admissions strategist, writing coach, and award-winning essayist. She holds a Bachelor's in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Creative Writing from University of Glasgow. Her writing skills helped students craft outstanding college applications and develop critical thinking and communication skills.

Cila has taught literature, linguistics, and writing at numerous international institutions, including Crimson Global Academy, Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth and ISSOS. As a college application essay coach, she has worked with elite US firms including AcceptU, College Transitions, and InGenius Prep.

With her experience working with international students and learners on non-traditional academic paths, her mentees have been accepted to universities such as Harvard, Dartmouth, Yale, Georgetown, MIT, Caltech, USC, University of Chicago, Rice, Amherst, William & Mary, Middlebury as well as international institutions like NYUAD, CMU Qatar, HKU, KAIST, UCL, University of Toronto, and many more.

🎙 Debate Masterclass Takeaways

On Monday, we welcomed Jamick Ergash-zoda, founder of his own debate school and former Cambodian national debate team coach, for a masterclass on competitive debate.

💡 Jamick's eight years of competitive debating experience and credentials as a WUDC ESL Quarter Finalist and Korea National Champion opened up the opportunities available to high school students. Jamick and our students explored how the international debate circuit works from World Schools to national championships.

🧬 Introducing Mashhura Kudratova, our new AP & A-level and Biology Olympiad coach.

Mashhura has 3+ years of experience as a biology teacher and is a graduate of the Presidential School in Navoi. For three consecutive years, she has participated in Biology Olympiads at both the national and international levels.

Additionally, she was honoured by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in March 2026 with the Zulfiya State Award for her outstanding achievements in the field of biology.

🎓 Humoyun Ibrohimov, studying at Georgetown University in Qatar, reflects on his journey with Freshman.

📚 Joining Freshman Scholars in 2025 changed how Humoyun approached economics as he moved from quantitative thinking to examining the philosophical foundations of economics.

Beyond Freshman, Humoyun helped establish Uzbekistan's National Economics Olympiad, placed first in IEO’s national competition, and published research on income inequality and resource abundance.

🌟Freshman Scholars proved to be a journey of self-discovery, as Humoyun begins Georgetown with newer perspectives on critical thinking and what it means to be a thoughtful scholar.
