🇮🇷 | Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani’s explicit warning to the Azerbaijani government: Learn a lesson from the fate of anti-religious rulers:
Ayatollah Mohammad Javad Fazel Lankarani, head of the Jurisprudence Center of the Imams in Qom Iran, in response to reports regarding the prohibition of hijab in educational centers in the Republic of Azerbaijan, considered this action contrary to the Islamic and Shiite identity of the people of that country. Warning against the consequences of confronting divine decrees, he emphasized: “The Azerbaijani government should learn a lesson from the fate of those who, during the era of tyranny, confronted religion and were destroyed.”
He rejected the claim of conflict between hijab and education, describing hijab as a bond between women and God and a manifestation of adherence to divine commands.
This prominent professor of the Qom Seminary, while supporting the protests of the people of the Republic of Azerbaijan, asked them to continue their protests and stated: “This action is not only a defense of their personal interests, but a defense of God’s command, and they should know that God Almighty will help them.”
Ayatollah Fazel Lankarani also called for a reaction from the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran on this issue and, emphasizing the necessity of recognizing the religious freedom of Muslim women, expressed hope that the restrictions imposed on hijab would be removed as soon as possible.
