🇮🇷/🏴| Terrorists in Sistan and Baluchestan have resorted to killing women:

Today, terrorists affiliated with America and the Zionist regime continued their crimes in Sistan and Baluchestan, martyring another woman, Afsaneh Aqila, commander of one of the women’s Basij units in Mehrestan. The terrorists killed her in front of her home.

Last week, terrorists from Jaish al-Adl also martyred Dr. Nosrat Eftekhari, deputy for social affairs at the Sistan and Baluchestan Police Command, when an explosive trap detonated. She had travelled to the Cheshmeh Ziyarat area at the request of local residents to serve the community.

Women hold a special position in Sistan and Baluchestan, where respect for the chador is one of the solemn oaths of the Baloch and Zabol communities. A respected local figure from Sistan explained that if someone commits an offence and takes refuge behind a woman, that person comes under her protection, and no one can harm him out of respect for her.

In 2015, the Brahui and Shaali tribes ended a 15-year-long bloody dispute through the mediation of women. In another case, in 2014, a female governor mediated between two Baloch tribes in Qasr-e Qand, leading to the pardon of a person facing qisas after 13 years of conflict.

A resident of Sistan and Baluchestan said that people in the province believe that “the terrorists have run amok these days.” The resident attributed this to the terrorists’ desperation in the face of Iran’s recent plans to improve security in the cities.

Mehdi Jahan-Tighi, a media and security affairs analyst, said that for several months, groups in the southeast could no longer be meaningfully described as Baloch liberation fighters or even as groups adhering to Sunni beliefs. He said that although some individuals had previously claimed to seek an independent Balochistan or certain religious freedoms, “the terrorist groups currently active in the southeast have now brought even their religious beliefs closer to those of the Zionist Jews!”
