🇹🇼🇺🇸 Tsai to Speak at Stanford
Former Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen will visit the United States next week to deliver the opening keynote at Stanford University’s 2026 Technology and National Security Conference, according to a statement posted by the Gordian Knot Center. The speech is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 8:20 a.m. local time at the Hoover Institution.
Stanford’s national security innovation center said Tsai’s eight years in office coincided with a more complex Indo-Pacific security environment, during which Taiwan strengthened its global position in critical technology and semiconductor manufacturing, deepened international partnerships, and invested in defense capacity and resilience. The center said Taiwan’s experience intersects with the conference’s core themes, including technology, economic security, democratic resilience, and strategic competition.
The visit places a former Taiwanese leader in a US national security forum centered on technology and geopolitics. It also keeps Taiwan-linked strategic and semiconductor issues visible in US policy and academic networks.
