🇪🇹 Seven Ethiopian rebel groups announce alliance against Abiy government

Seven rebel groups from across Ethiopia have announced a new alliance against Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government, according to a BBC report published 19 hours ago. The groups said they were joining forces despite some previously being rivals or fighting separately, as renewed fighting has flared in the northern Tigray region.

The announcement comes as Ethiopia faces fresh instability after the civil war centered on Tigray. The BBC report said the groups say they are now united by a common goal against the federal government.
