Germany lacks the funds for defense. According to a draft budget reviewed by Bloomberg, Germany plans to cut spending on ammunition to 9.6 billion euros in 2027 from 11 billion euros in 2026.

Shares of Rheinmetall, Europe’s largest manufacturer of 155-mm shells, have fallen by more than 30% this year.
