🎯 11. Polymarket vs Kalshi: Prediction Markets Battle

October became a record month for the prediction markets sector. Prediction volume reached $8.5 billion. Polymarket raised $2 billion at a $9 billion valuation from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of NYSE. Kalshi announced a new funding round — $300M at a $5B valuation from Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. In October, Kalshi surpassed Polymarket in volume — $4.4B vs $4.1B.

🏛 12. Harvard University Invests $500M in BlackRock Bitcoin ETF

Harvard University invested half a billion dollars in BlackRock's IBIT, which represents just 1% of the total endowment but enough to rank 16th among IBIT holders. Under management of the largest spot ETF, assets total ~$75B. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas called this "hardly the best signal of trust an ETF can get."

📊 5. DeFi: Protocol Hacks and Synthetic Stablecoin Depegging

This week saw a hack of Balancer, one of the oldest DeFi protocols, followed by problems with Moonwell, and then a chain of events with synthetic stablecoins: xUSD, deUSD, USDX. xUSD from Stream Finance collapsed from $1.25 to $0.12 due to issues in delta-neutral strategies. Curators created risky looping strategies with LTV above 90%, and some vaults had fixed oracles, causing liquidators to fail.

➡️ This reminds us of the importance of diversification and understanding risks in DeFi: high APR is not a free bonus but compensation for increased risks.

🛍 6. NFT Market Loses 46% of Capitalization in 30 Days

The NFT market lost 46% of its capitalization in just 30 days, with even leading collections like BAYC and CryptoPunks losing ground. The largest declines were seen on BNB Chain and Polygon — 82% and 86% respectively. Ethereum, the largest network by NFT sales volume, lost 25% over the last month, while Solana, Immutable, and Avalanche lost an average of 30–35%.

➡️ The NFT market decline reflects a general decrease in interest in collectible assets and a shift in attention to more utilitarian blockchain applications.

🧠 7. JPMorgan Launches JPM Coin Deposit Token

JPMorgan launched the JPM Coin (JPMD) deposit token, initially available to institutional clients. JPMD represents US dollar deposits held at the bank and enables 24/7 instant transfers through the Base protocol. This is the first major bank to launch its own token for institutional clients.

➡️ This marks a new stage of institutional blockchain adoption by traditional financial institutions, where tokenized deposits become reality.

📡 8. Visa Launches Stablecoin Payment Pilot

Visa is launching a pilot project for stablecoin payments to cryptocurrency wallets from corporate accounts, even if they're funded with fiat currency. The project targets content creators, freelancers, and other payroll payment options. Full launch is expected in the second half of 2026. Visa will also add support for four new stablecoins.

💰 9. UK Introduces Stablecoin Restrictions

The Bank of England proposed limits for individuals — £20,000, for companies — £10M (with possible exceptions). Issuers are allowed to hold up to 60% of assets in short-term government bonds, at least 40% — in deposits at the Bank of England. For systemically significant stablecoins, a temporary limit of up to 95% in government bonds is possible. The rules apply to pound-denominated stablecoins and will come into force after final approval next year.

➡️ This increases payment security and liquidity control but may limit the use of stablecoins for large transactions.

🔗 10. Hyperliquid Launches Permissionless Contracts

Hyperliquid co-founder Jeff Yan reported that teams TradeXYZ, Ventuals, and Felix Protocol launched permissionless contracts on Hyperliquid. According to HIP-3, any developer will be able to launch a DEX on HyperCore provided they stake 500,000 HYPE. The market creator is responsible for its parameters: from contract specifications and oracles to leverage limits and settlement execution. Developers will be able to set their share of fees up to 50%.

This opens new opportunities for decentralized trading, where any developer can create their own market without permission.

⛏ 1. Bitcoin Falls Below $100,000: Whales Dump $45B in Assets

BTC price dropped 7.4%, falling below $100,000 for the first time since June — more than 20% below last month's record. Unlike previous crashes, the current decline is caused by spot market sell-offs rather than futures liquidations. According to 10x Research, long-term holders sold approximately 400,000 BTC ($45B), causing market imbalance. Analysts from market maker Wintermute noted a break in the usual four-year cycles and crypto lagging behind other instruments.

🖼 2. Ethereum: Record Stablecoin Volumes and Wall Street Infrastructure

Ethereum network recorded a record volume of stablecoin operations in October — $2.8T. Former head of digital assets at BlackRock and current CEO of SharpLink, Joseph Chalom, stated that Ethereum is the new infrastructure for Wall Street. Most stablecoins, tokenized assets, and active smart contracts run on Ethereum. The Ethereum Foundation relaunched its grants program with a new targeted approach.

💸 3. Zcash Rises 700%+: Privacy Back in Focus

The price of Zcash (ZEC) — a cryptocurrency focused on transaction privacy — rose 21% in the last 24 hours, holding above $600. The cryptocurrency ranks 18th by market capitalization. Over the month, ZEC has grown nearly 1,500% from the bottom, pulling other privacy coins with it. However, the European Union plans to completely ban the use of privacy coins by 2027, and major CEX exchanges are announcing delisting of ZEC, DASH, and XMR.

➡️ Zcash's growth demonstrates a revival of interest in privacy as the main utility of cryptocurrencies, but regulators are back at work, which may limit the use of these tools.

🐋 4. Solana ETF Launched: Bitwise and Grayscale Add Staking

Bitwise and Grayscale launched spot Solana ETFs with staking functionality. DTCC added five spot XRP ETFs to its website from Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, 21Shares, Canary, and CoinShares. Although DTCC registration doesn't guarantee listing, the community expects trading to launch this month, given all the registration relaxations from the SEC.

🔐 12. Telegram Launches Email Authorization and P2P Login for Russia

Telegram added a new authorization method via email and began rolling out in Russia the function of sending SMS codes at users' expense through the Peer-to-Peer Login Program. This will simplify authorization for Russians under conditions of SMS and call blocking. Telegram also began sending authorization codes via WhatsApp amid the blocks.

➡️ This is critically important for maintaining Telegram's accessibility in Russia, where regulators are actively restricting the messenger's operation, and demonstrates the platform's readiness to adapt to local restrictions.


📊 13. Early Miner Transfers 700,000 TON from Believers Fund to ByBit

An early miner transferred over 700,000 TON from Believers Fund to ByBit. Coins from the first unlock were collected into one wallet from multiple addresses with similar transaction patterns. On average, each of these wallets was topped up with 1M TON in 2023. With high probability, the coins will not be sold directly into the exchange order book but will find their end buyer among institutional clients.

➡️ This demonstrates that large TON holders prefer to work through OTC deals with institutional clients rather than selling directly on the exchange, which reduces price pressure.


⚠️ 14. TON Strategy Receives Warning from Nasdaq

TON Strategy (#TONX) received a warning letter from Nasdaq's listing department. Staff determined that the company violated shareholder approval requirements under Nasdaq rules, sections 5635(a) and 5635(b). This occurred on October 28, 2025. The company will need to correct the violations to maintain its exchange listing.
