Despite heavy promotion from UFC, its fighters and partners, the auction barely moved the needle for Telegram gifts: the number of users holding at least one gift grew by only 1,568 unique accounts on launch day.
🔝 What happened
⚫️ On the day of the UFC auction, the gifts holder base increased by just 1,568 users
⚫️ Media exposure was maximal: UFC, fighters, partners and a full promo push around the auction and gifts
🔝 Why it matters
⚫️ Even high-profile sports partnerships don’t automatically translate into on-chain activity
⚫️ The entry barrier (wallet setup, understanding mechanics, personal risk profile) still filters out a large share of mainstream users
⚫️ For Telegram and TON, this is a signal: without an even simpler UX and a clearer value proposition for gifts, top-tier partnerships mostly deliver branding, not explosive growth in the holder base
