A 78-year-old French mayor was kicked and beaten with iron bars by masked Israeli settlers while joining Palestinian olive farmers in the West Bank. European diplomats were attacked in the same convoy. And Netanyahu called it a "smear."

🚗 A convoy of European diplomats — including France's and Belgium's top representatives in Jerusalem and Polish diplomats — was attacked by masked settlers in the Christian village of Taybeh.

👴 Mayor Bernard Baudoux (78) was kicked, hit with iron bars, and insulted with defamatory comments about France — while wearing his tricolour sash.

📸 One day earlier: An American photographer for The Washington Post, Heidi Levine, was beaten — left with broken vertebrae. Earlier this month, an AFP photographer had several ribs fractured.
