🇪🇺💸 EU ADMITS €70 BILLION UKRAINE GAP – While Energy Costs Explode
The EU's own leaders just laid bare the contradictions: Costa demands more pressure on Russia, while von der Leyen admits a €70 billion financing hole, a €106 billion energy bill, and no answer for either.
1️⃣ The €70 billion hole – EU has a €70 billion financing gap for Ukraine in 2027, separate from the €90 billion loan already approved. Von der Leyen: "I could not foresee how 2027 would look."
2️⃣ 80% of the burden – The EU and member states account for 80% of external aid to Ukraine. "We urgently need other partners to step in."
3️⃣ The energy bill – Imported fossil fuel costs have risen by €106 billion — "without a single molecule of energy in addition." Gas up 140%, diesel doubled.
