After the Trump-Xi summit, Beijing announced a new military crisis-communication agreement. The White House hasn't confirmed it. The Pentagon hasn't either. Once again, China is leading on stability – while the US hesitates.
🤝 China and the US agreed to pursue a military crisis-communication pact – a memorandum of understanding on "crisis communication and prevention" to be concluded "as soon as possible."
📞 The agreement would build on existing consultation arrangements and senior communication channels – potentially giving commanders another mechanism to manage dangerous encounters.
🛡️ The proposed pact follows the first theatre-level contact in two years – Admiral Samuel Paparo (US Indo-Pacific commander) met General Yang Zhibin (PLA Eastern Theatre Command) in late August.
🇸🇦 SAUDI ARABIA AT THE UN: "The Kingdom Reiterates Its Full Right to Protect Its Sovereignty"
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan delivered a series of firm statements at the UN General Assembly – addressing Iranian attacks, regional security, Palestine, and the Strait of Hormuz.
· 🇸🇦 On Iranian attacks: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the countries of the region have been subjected to flagrant Iranian attacks targeting their security, resources, and civilian and economic facilities. The Kingdom reiterates its full right to protect its security and sovereignty, its citizens and residents, and its national resources."
· 🇵🇸 On Palestine: "The Kingdom rejects any attempts at forced displacement or changing the status quo of the Palestinian territories. Just and lasting peace can only be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders."
🇺🇸🤡 TRUMP REJECTS IRAN DEAL – "We Have Total Control of Hormuz"
Iran offered a path to peace: lift the blockade, reopen Hormuz, end the fighting. Trump said no. Then he claimed the US controls the strait. The reality is more complicated.
· 🗣️ "We have total control of the Hormuz Strait. Massive amounts of oil are coming out. They wanna make a deal… But that deal would not be acceptable."

🇵🇰 BREAKING: A suicide bombing at a roadside police checkpoint in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan, has killed at least 11 security personnel and wounded 30 others, according to police.
The Pakistan Taliban (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
🇺🇸🇷🇺🇨🇳 Trump proposes trilateral arms control talks with Russia and China.
Following Xi Jinping’s September 23–25 state visit to Washington, the White House said President Donald Trump advocated negotiations involving the US, Russia and China.
Trump and Xi also discussed global issues involving Russia, North Korea and Iran. The two leaders agreed that Iran should not obtain a nuclear weapon and that no country or institution should impose tolls on international waterways.
The proposal comes as Washington, Moscow and Beijing remain the world’s three largest nuclear-armed powers.

🇩🇪🇩🇪 More than 45,000 German students protest against possible return of conscription.
Students took to the streets in around 100 cities across Germany on Friday, opposing the government’s new military-service rules and possible compulsory service.
The protests followed the start of mandatory medical examinations for young men born from 2008 onward. Germany’s new system currently relies on voluntary military service, while mandatory examinations are being phased in.
Protest organizers argue the measures could pave the way for a gradual return of compulsory military service.
If voluntary recruitment fails to meet the government’s targets, Germany’s parliament could consider reintroducing conscription.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran Offers 7-Day Roadmap to Reopen Strait of Hormuz
Iran has proposed a seven-day roadmap aimed at ending the war and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying Tehran is ready to begin implementing the plan if Washington agrees.
President Masoud Pezeshkian told Al Jazeera that the Hormuz crisis can be resolved through negotiations rather than force, while saying the waterway could remain open for trade if talks lead to an agreement.
Pezeshkian also said Iran no longer trusts negotiations with Washington following what he described as repeated attacks and sanctions after previous talks. Qatar and Pakistan are currently mediating between the two sides, according to the Iranian president.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump posted a map on Truth Social labelling the Strait of Hormuz “Trump Strait.” Al Jazeera reported that US officials were in no hurry to respond to Tehran’s proposal.

US President Donald Trump reportedly urged Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to travel to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the conversation.
The reported suggestion was made during Trump and Zelensky’s meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Zelensky reportedly rejected the idea, with Bloomberg saying the proposal upset him.
The report comes as Washington continues diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Moscow has repeatedly said it is prepared to receive Zelensky in Moscow and has expressed readiness for direct talks, while the two sides remain divided over the conditions for a settlement.

Russia’s Defense Ministry says its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 645 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight across multiple Russian regions, as well as over the Black Sea and Sea of Azov.
According to the ministry, the drones were downed over areas including Moscow, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Rostov, Voronezh, Krasnodar and Stavropol, along with Crimea and the two seas.
The figures were reported by Russia’s Defense Ministry and have not been independently verified.
