🇷🇺🇺🇸 Putin–Trump Phone Call Lasts 90 Minutes, Described as “Substantive and Friendly”

Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov says Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump held a 90-minute phone conversation on October 9, discussing the Ukraine conflict, economic cooperation, and diplomatic efforts involving Iran.

According to Ushakov, Putin reaffirmed Moscow’s readiness for a political and diplomatic settlement aimed at achieving lasting peace, while outlining Russia’s response to Ukrainian attacks. He also said the two leaders discussed potential supplies of Russian petroleum products to the US and global markets.

The presidents did not set a date for their next in-person meeting, but both are expected to attend the upcoming APEC summit in China, potentially creating an opportunity for further talks.

On Iran, Putin reportedly stressed that diplomatic options remain open and reiterated Moscow’s offer to take custody of Iran’s enriched uranium.
