The US Treasury Department has announced a temporary waiver easing sanctions on Russian fuel trade, allowing the sale, delivery and import of Russian diesel—including into the United States—until at least April 7, 2027, according to RT.

President Donald Trump said Russia would immediately supply more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel, followed by another 500,000 tonnes in November and further shipments thereafter.

The Kremlin welcomed Washington’s move, saying increased Russian fuel supplies could help stabilize global energy markets. The decision comes amid major supply disruptions linked to the US-Israeli war with Iran and rising fuel prices.

The development highlights how energy security and global market pressures are reshaping US-Russia economic relations despite ongoing geopolitical tensions.
