🪙 An AI agent factory inside Telegram

⚫️ Let’s take a break from the NFT sticker rumors and talk about another trend: AI agents. My Duck AI, a project by Resistor, has been live on TON since early summer and lets anyone spin up their own agent in just a couple of clicks.

⚫️ AI agents inside Telegram have been a thing since the start of the year, so you probably already know the basic idea. If you somehow missed the trend, check out our older post. With My Duck AI, you can launch an agent in a couple of clicks. On top of its built-in skills, the agent gets its own Gram balance and can analyze and trade tokens on TON.

⚫️ The app already comes with a number of ready-made modes. There’s Moderator for managing and monitoring chats, Trader for trading on TON, Memecoin Deployer for launching tokens, Business Assistant for answering customer questions, and plenty more. Each preset can also be customized later to fit your own use case.

⚫️ My Duck AI was originally supposed to run on Cocoon, but as we’ve already covered, things aren’t looking great there right now. So the app also supports other models, including Qwen, GLM, DeepSeek, and Gemini.

⚫️ The project has been around since early summer, but it still hasn’t gained much traction. Which is a shame: if you want to spin up your own AI agent in a couple of minutes, this is probably one of the easiest ways to do it. And if you’re somehow still trading on TON — seriously, what the hell is wrong with you? — there probably isn’t a better option.

🍌 JUST IN: NFT stickers in Telegram have now been confirmed in the code (denied)

In a fresh update to tlottie, which is already used by Telegram Desktop, the developer
explicitly mentioned “NFT model stickers.”

Back in early August, we
already speculated that Telegram might be working on NFT stickers. We also explained what tlottie is in that post. MTONGA?

UPD: A Telegram developer has denied the report, saying that NFT model stickers are not connected to NFT stickers in any way.

🖊 Liquidity never sits still

⚫️ Today, Circle — the company behind USDC — launched Arc. Traders wasted no time jumping into the new chain: at the time of writing, 24-hour DEX volume has already reached $337 million, while some of the first tokens are already doing tens of millions of dollars in volume.

⚫️ Interestingly, as activity on Arc picked up, memecoins on Solana and Base noticeably cooled off. We’ve seen this kind of liquidity rotation between chains before. This summer, for example, after Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev posted about memecoins, daily DEX volume on Robinhood Chain jumped from $32 million to $433 million, and at its peak the network accounted for 16.6% of all DEX volume. Robinhood Chain’s early surge was indeed driven heavily by speculative memecoin flow.

⚫️ Solana memecoins started losing steam around the same time. According to DexScreener, between July 6 and July 10 — right after Tenev’s post — daily volume fell 35%, while total market cap dropped 7.6%. Something similar now seems to be happening as traders rotate into Arc.

⚫️ Fun fact: there’s a small TON connection here too. Earlier this year, the trading terminal not.trade launched in our ecosystem, only to shut down about six weeks later because of low volumes. Its founder, Potato, then pivoted to Arc and built Argus. Today, on mainnet launch day, the project’s token has already 10x’d and is currently sitting at the top of Arc’s trending tokens.

By the way, both FOMO and Lockin supported Arc from day one — we covered them in more detail here and here. As everyone in crypto knows, nothing markets a new chain better than green candles, so let’s see whether Circle can keep the momentum going.

👁 A hidden upside of RWA pairs

⚫️ With Gram Wallet delayed once again, we’re temporarily continuing our tour of other ecosystems. Last week, we covered a new meta: launching memecoins in pairs with tokenized stocks. Today, let’s look at one interesting side effect of that setup.

⚫️ Most “trenchers” on Robinhood Chain keep their balances in ETH or USDG. So if someone wants to buy a memecoin paired with tokenized GOOGLx, the aggregator routes the trade like this: USDG → GOOGLx → memecoin. When they sell, the same route runs in reverse.

⚫️ That routing is where things get interesting. If you have idle capital, in theory you can provide liquidity to a pair like ETH/GOOGLx or USDG/NVDAx and collect fees from all the trading routed through it. You can still face impermanent loss, of course, but you avoid the much uglier scenario of ending up with half your LP position in some worthless memecoin.

⚫️ On TON, routes like this are a bit trickier. Because of the blockchain’s asynchronous architecture, two swaps can’t be bundled into a single atomic transaction. During periods of high volatility, the first swap may go through while the second one fails. In that case, the trader can get stuck holding the intermediate token.

⚫️ As a reminder, if your funds are on TON and you want to trade across other chains, Lockin is the easiest option. If your funds are already outside TON, FOMO is a bit nativier.

📈 How stocks are getting their own memecoins

⚫️ Yesterday, we looked at how tokenized stocks have become one of crypto’s newest metas — and how that trend is slowly making its way to TON. Today, let’s keep going and take a look at a few memecoins launched in pairs with these assets. Needless to say, this is not financial advice — just something to make your Friday a little more entertaining.

⚫️ Over the past few days, an unwritten rule has already emerged on Robinhood Chain: pretty much every popular stock now seems to need its own memecoin. Here are a few examples:

FLYBRAIN against GOOGL. You’ve probably already seen the story about an enthusiast who got a digitized fly brain to trade crypto. The market reacted exactly as you’d expect, spawning dozens of memecoins around the story. The biggest winner so far is $FLYBRAIN: it trades against tokenized Alphabet stock and currently sits at around a $15.5M market cap.

MEME against AMC. Back in 2021, the US movie theater chain was on the brink of bankruptcy when Reddit traders piled into the stock and triggered a massive short squeeze. AMC ripped higher, while funds betting against it took heavy losses. Five years later, the ticker has been given a new meaning: “A Meme Coin.” The token currently sits at around a $50M market cap.

FATCOIN against LLY. Eli Lilly makes Mounjaro and Zepbound, two of the most popular drugs used for diabetes treatment and weight loss. The market clearly liked the joke behind the token’s name: FATCOIN is currently hovering around a $5M market cap.

NUDES against SNAP. Snapchat got paired with a token called NUDES. We probably don’t need to explain this one. Its market cap is also sitting at around $5M.

And if Telegram ever went public, what would its memecoin be called?

📈 Memecoins are now trading against stocks

⚫️ If you’ve been following crypto lately, you’ve probably noticed that a lot of trading activity is currently centered on Robinhood Chain, where a new meta is gaining traction fast. More and more tokens are launching in pairs not with the chain’s native asset or USDT, but with tokenized stocks like NVDAx, TSLAx, MSTRx, and others.

⚫️ Most of these launches are happening through the PONS launchpad, whose token recently came close to a $1 billion market cap. Yesterday, pump.fun adopted the same model, offering 93 different assets for new pairs — from NVIDIA and Tesla to the S&P 500, Bitcoin, and gold.

⚫️ TON has now started experimenting with the same format. The GroypFi team launched TopBlast V2, where users can create memestocks paired with tokenized stocks, stablememes paired with USDT and USDe, and golden memes paired with XAUt0. Once the bonding curve is completed, the tokens automatically migrate into liquidity pools on DeDust.

⚫️ TON is already one of nine networks where xStocks are officially available, but liquidity is still clearly thin. Let’s see whether TopBlast can help kick-start this market.

💀 Where did the old Durov go?

⚫️ A few days ago, Kirill Filimonov from Dayte TON! (Give me TON!) recorded an eight-minute “obituary” for TON as it exists today, going through the mistakes of its former leadership and Pavel Durov himself. We won’t dwell on the voice message itself. What interests us more is something else: Kirill is far from the first person to point out how much attitudes toward Durov — once a hero to many — have changed over the past couple of years.

⚫️ Everyone remembers the old Durov persona: a reclusive geek dressed in black, rarely giving interviews and openly inspired by Neo from The Matrix. Today, we see someone who jokes on stage that none of his friends were scammed through Mini Apps while “all of them got richer,” talks about having a hundred biological children, and fails to deliver on his own promises. So how did we get here? That’s what today’s subjective #opinion is about.

⚫️ We think the Durov image everyone had grown used to started visibly cracking in 2024. After several years of rapid Telegram growth amid the war conflict, the platform got another wave of attention around Mini Apps: tap-to-earn games suddenly went mainstream, putting TON and Telegram right at the center of the trend. For the first time in years, Durov had a product success big enough to break far beyond Telegram’s usual audience. That was when he stepped out from behind the product: taking the stage at TOKEN2049, sitting down with Tucker Carlson — which spawned the “two chairs” memes — and talking publicly about his sperm donations.

⚫️ It’s hard not to notice that Musk entered the picture around the same time. Elon reacted to Pavel’s story about having a hundred biological children, the two followed each other and started interacting more often on X. By 2025, Musk himself had gone far beyond being just a tech founder: he had grown close to Trump and the new administration and became the public face of DOGE — a government-efficiency initiative with an obvious nod to the memecoin he had spent years shilling on X. We wouldn’t be surprised if, to Durov — who has always held Musk in high regard — this looked like a whole new level of personal influence.

⚫️ Unfortunately for Pavel, the Grok story turned into a pretty brutal reality check. In spring 2025, Durov announced a Grok integration and a one-year partnership with xAI as if the deal were already signed. A few hours later, Musk publicly undercut the announcement by saying that nothing had been signed yet. We don’t know exactly why the two ultimately failed to get the deal over the line or what killed the partnership. But it is telling that Durov, who once seemed to need nobody’s approval, suddenly wanted to show how close he was to Musk and how big the deal was going to be. Somewhere around here, the old Neo persona may have finally disappeared.

⚫️ The old Durov largely let the results speak for him. Telegram used to build Pavel’s reputation; now the order often feels reversed. First comes the promise, then comes the wait for the product to catch up. Gram Wallet, which Durov promised to launch back in the summer, is just another detail in that picture. Maybe that’s why there seems to be less and less of the old Pavel magic left today.

⭐️ Fomo — the crypto social app we didn’t build

⚫️ Fomo officially launched in May 2025, with the team saying it wanted to onboard more than 10 million users. A year and a half later, the app is generating over $1 million a day in fees, while people across X and Telegram are already calling it “the future of trading.”

⚫️ The formula is pretty simple: Fomo put everything a casual trader needs into one app. A feed of influencer calls, a custodial wallet with Apple Pay deposits, and a trade aggregator that lets users buy tokens without leaving the app. It also works across all the major chains: you can fund your account on one network and use the same balance to trade across several others.

⚫️ By bringing the entire memecoin trading flow into one place, Fomo has become an almost perfect entry point for normies. Instead of juggling several crypto apps and figuring out how they all work, you get one product that handles the whole experience.

⚫️ TON once felt exciting because the idea of taking Telegram — an already massive social app — and embedding crypto directly into it seemed bold and unique. Back then, very few platforms were in a position to do something like that, and there simply weren’t that many truly massive apps to begin with.

👁 Fomo took the opposite route: it started with a crypto product and layered social features on top, making the whole experience seamless and easy for regular users to understand. Right now, more than 100,000 people are actively trading in the app, while the total number of traders has already passed 1.5 million.

🏆 Gram Wallet was hiding in plain sight since 2019

⚫️ A few days ago, Pavel Durov sent 100 GRAM to marat.ton, and the owner of the address moved the funds into the new Telegram Wallet almost immediately. We decided to look into who might be behind the wallet and found a likely match in Marat Kharrasov, a designer whose Telegram concepts were featured by the company as far back as 2019.

⚫️ One of his earliest concepts focused on the original Gram Wallet from the Telegram Open Network era. In the video, a user opens an App Store-style marketplace inside Telegram and buys a game with GRAM. The concept looked so convincing that some media outlets mistook it for an official Telegram interface. Telegram later awarded Marat with $5,000 for the work.

⚫️ A few years later, Marat shared another major concept — vertical video with recording, editing, and livestreaming built directly into Telegram. In other words, something very close to what eventually arrived with Stories. We wouldn’t be surprised if work like this got him invited to join Telegram.

⚫️ What’s even more interesting is that the same concept already gave Gram Wallet its own tab in Telegram’s main navigation, alongside Contacts and Messages. Users could also send GRAM tips during livestreams.

🍌 If Telegram is still building on Marat’s old ideas, the next step of MTONGA could easily be a much more prominent Telegram Wallet integration directly into the app. And after that, we may even see new GRAM use cases like tipping during livestreams.

P.S. We posted screenshots from Marat’s old concepts in the comments.

📒 Telegram Wallet might go completely unnoticed

⚫️ Back in late July, we already worried that Telegram Wallet could simply get lost inside the app after launch. A billion users may get access to a new wallet, but it was never clear how that billion was actually supposed to find out about it. Now we have the first answer — and it does not make us any more optimistic.

⚫️ Judging by Telegram’s beta version, the new wallet will replace the current @wallet entry in Settings and will also be available through the attachment menu. In other words, for an average user, the update may look something like this: yesterday there was one wallet button in the menu, today there is another. If you do not actively look for it, the “biggest self-custodial wallet rollout in history” could be almost impossible to notice.

⚫️ And that is exactly the problem we wrote about before. Telegram Wallet itself could be a perfectly good product, but simply integrating it into Telegram is not enough. Regular users still need to actually see it, understand why they might want it, and have a reason to open it for the first time.

⚫️ Meanwhile, Pavel Durov himself has now joined the testing: he sent GRAM to an address using the new Telegram Wallet contract. As for the reports currently making the rounds in the media about his appearance at TOKEN2049 Singapore, those are unfortunately still unconfirmed — Durov is not listed among the official speakers.

👁 A shame, really. TOKEN2049 would have been a perfect place for Durov to properly introduce the wallet to a wider audience.

🚀 How often does Durov keep his promises?

⚫️ Yesterday, Pavel Durov said Telegram Wallet was ready, technically delivering on his promise to unveil it before the end of summer. The catch is that back in July, he was talking about the biggest self-custodial wallet rollout in history, potentially reaching a billion users. So far, though, access has only been given to a “select group.” Everyone else was told to wait another couple of weeks and got a promo video in the meantime.

⚫️ Since the announcement, around 2,000 wallets using the new contract have appeared on TON. But that doesn’t mean they are Telegram Wallet users — anyone can deploy a wallet using the same contract. Inside Telegram itself, we still haven’t found a single person who has actually been given access to the new wallet.

⚫️ This wouldn’t be the first time Durov failed to deliver on one of his own promises. Many will remember how, in May last year, Pavel said Telegram would get a major Grok integration over the summer. Just a few hours later, Elon Musk clarified that no deal had even been signed.

⚫️ Later, the Grok story got a convenient explanation: Telegram was supposedly unhappy with third-party AI services storing user prompts on their own servers, so Durov decided to build Cocoon instead. A neat explanation, sure — but it makes it even harder to understand why Cocoon is still unavailable.

⚫️ NFT stickers belong on the same list. Back at TOKEN2049 in spring 2024, Durov promised to tokenize stickers and emoji, with creators receiving up to 95% of the revenue. More than two years later, there has been no launch and no further comment from Durov on the idea.

👁 Let’s be frank: missed promises, repeated attempts to explain them away, and the silence around the next steps of MTONGA are starting to hurt the credibility of both Durov and Telegram itself. Hopefully, Telegram Wallet is where this streak ends — and the next public promises are actually delivered on time.

💀 Looks like Telegram may not make it in time

⚫️ Yesterday, TON Core published the smart contract for the upcoming Telegram Wallet, and less than 24 hours later validators had already approved it on TON mainnet. Technically, a major piece of the infrastructure is now ready — the new wallet type can already be created and used on mainnet.

⚫️ But there is clearly still work left before a full release. Right now, we could only find two wallets using the new contract on mainnet, one of which we created ourselves. There are just three such addresses on testnet, and two of them most likely belong to the same person. So even within Telegram and TON Core, active testing of the new wallet does not seem to have started yet.

⚫️ There are only three days left until Durov’s promised end-of-summer deadline. Even if the Telegram UI has been ready for a while, developers still need to hook it up to the new wallet engine, test the builds, and submit the updates for review on the App Store and Google Play. Store review alone is worth budgeting at least a day or two for.

⚫️ So now it may all come down to one question: are Telegram developers working this weekend? If they are, there is still a small chance Gram Wallet ships on August 31. If not, it looks like we’ll be seeing it in September.

🍌 What else do we know about Telegram’s new wallet contract?

⚫️ A seperate GitHub branch is testing the ability to store a Telegram user ID directly in the wallet contract.

Potential use cases could include account recovery or 2FA, but neither feature has been implemented yet.

⚫️ A TON mainnet governance vote is now underway to add the Telegram Wallet code to Config Param -123. This would serve as the source of shared contract logic for all Telegram wallets.

The proposal needs 75% of the total validator weight in two voting rounds to pass. If it clears both the current and the next round, the code could go live in the TON config as early as this weekend.

🍌 JUST IN: The upcoming Gram Wallet now has its own dedicated smart contract.

The key innovation is that the wallet code can be upgraded across all deployed contracts at once. Updates will take effect following a validator vote, with no action required from users.

Initially, the wallet is created by Telegram, which retains custody of the signing key. The owner will later be able to rotate the key and switch to a fully non-custodial setup, gaining complete control over the wallet.

The contract also supports gasless transactions, with native 2FA and subscriptions potentially coming in the future.

📡 Can you brute-force a TON private key?

⚫️ Getgems developer Ivan Nedzvetsky decided to test how often TON developers cut corners when generating private keys. The idea came from a case involving cold Bitcoin wallets, where predictable key generation made it possible to recover private keys and steal tens of millions of dollars.

⚫️ The problem is that a private key is supposed to be generated from random data. But technically, a developer can take a shortcut: hash a word with SHA-256 and derive a private key from the result. The wallet will still work normally, but a key like that can potentially be brute-forced using common password lists.

⚫️ Ivan wanted to see whether anyone had actually done this in practice. Using TON Analytics, he pulled data for roughly 190 million addresses and 50 million public keys, then started brute-forcing candidate values. His search included 56 million common passwords from SecLists, 134 million Unix timestamps starting from 2022, and another 10 million plain numbers.

⚫️ The result was actually pretty reassuring: out of hundreds of millions of candidates, he found just two addresses. One key had been derived from the word storm, while the other came from the string 1.3. And as it turned out, Ivan himself had created the second wallet at some point. Both were used only once and are empty today.

⚫️ If you want the technical details, check out the developer’s channel — he broke down how the experiment worked and what else could still be tested. And if you’re planning to do some key hunting yourself, better move fast before GRAM gets sent all the way to zero

🐤 How can Telegram support TON builders?

⚫️ Since control of TON changed hands, we keep coming back to the same question: where are independent builders supposed to go for support now? With TON Foundation gone, there is still no clear answer.

⚫️ The problem is serious enough that it is already affecting basic infrastructure. EVAA Finance’s former CTO recently wrote that after Foundation disappeared, no one paid to keep the Pyth integration running on TON. Pyth provides external data such as live asset prices — the kind of price feeds that a large part of DeFi relies on. According to the developer, when projects asked what they were supposed to do next, they were basically told to figure it out themselves.

⚫️ Telegram already has one possible way to support builders: technical contests with sizeable prize pools. Back in early 2025, Telegram and TON Core launched a Blockchain Contest where developers were asked to optimize network validation and build a trustless bridge. The winners shared a $200,000 prize pool. Another round followed later with roughly $100,000 up for grabs.

⚫️ Telegram was running contests like these even back in the Telegram Open Network days. Quite a few developers who took part later joined TON Core, including Anatoliy Makosov. Independent builders participated too: Shiny Giraffe, for example, earned more than $50,000 across several contests. Some of his code is still running as part of TON DNS infrastructure today.

⚫️ We wouldn’t be surprised to see another Blockchain Contest after MTONGA. It won’t replace a proper grants program, but it would at least give independent builders a way to get paid for contributing to TON again.

📈 Social trading for crypto, inside Telegram

⚫️ The GroypFi team is launching Lockin, a new social trading app inside Telegram. The idea is simple: users buy tokens, share their trade calls, and see how well other traders are actually performing.

⚫️ Lockin is similar in spirit to Fomo, the social crypto trading app. Each user gets a profile with their trading stats, while the main feed shows calls from influencers and other traders. That makes it much easier to tell who actually has a solid track record — and who is just good at posting bullish takes.

⚫️ What makes Lockin especially interesting is that it isn’t limited to TON. The app already supports Solana, BNB Chain, Robinhood, and other ecosystems. You can buy assets from outside TON directly with Gram — Lockin handles the routing and completes the trade for you in the background.

⚫️ It’s a good example of how TON can become a gateway to other markets while keeping the entire experience inside Telegram. Lockin is still in testing, but an early version is already available at @tradeonlockinbot.
