❗️Hamas condemns Israeli assassination threats against Khalil al-Hayya as 'state terrorism'

Hamas has condemned Israeli War Minister Israel Katz's threats against the movement's leader, Khalil al-Hayya, describing them as "organized state terrorism" that exposes the Israeli government's "political bankruptcy."

In a statement, Hamas said the threats would neither deter its leadership nor change its pursuit of Palestinian rights, adding that the warnings would only strengthen its resolve. The movement also called on mediators to take a firm position and condemn Katz's remarks.

Katz made the threat while attacking Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over Turkiye's support for Hamas. He wrote on social media that Israel had eliminated Hamas leaders in Gaza and that "Hayya's turn will also come," adding that he would be sent to meet former Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh "in the depths of hell."

The remarks followed a meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Hayya in Ankara, Turkiye, on Friday.
