❗️Iran suspends vehicle imports as government reserves foreign currency for essential goods

Iran has temporarily suspended foreign-currency allocations for non-priority imports, including vehicles imported by hoteliers and Iranians living abroad, as the government redirects resources towards essential goods and medicine.

Government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani announced the measure, saying the suspension was ordered by the president in response to the country's exceptional circumstances, according to Tasnim News Agency.

The restriction covers all vehicle categories, including vans and specialized vehicles.

"At present, all of the government's efforts and foreign-currency resources are focused on supplying essential goods, medicine, and vital needs to maintain the dynamism of the country's economy," Mohajerani said, as Iran prioritizes domestic needs amid mounting western economic warfare and constraints on access to foreign currency.
