❗️The Bibi Files director says Netanyahu driven by bid to avoid jail

The director of the documentary The Bibi Files said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's political decisions are shaped by his ongoing corruption trial and his desire to avoid prison.

"People forget that he's motivated to stay out of jail, and everything he does comes back to that," director Alexis Bloom told Anadolu Agency ahead of a screening of the film at the European Parliament in Brussels. Bloom said audiences should consider Netanyahu's legal troubles alongside the daily developments surrounding Israel's policies.

Netanyahu was indicted in 2019 on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust in three cases. He has denied wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty.

His trial, which began in 2020, remains ongoing. The Bibi Files draws on leaked footage of police interrogations involving Netanyahu, his family and associates, alongside interviews with people familiar with the cases.
