⭕️ Commodity vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz dropped to two ships on Monday, down from 10 the previous day, according to preliminary shipping data released on Tuesday.

The figures do not include vessels that may have transited the strait with their Automatic Identification System transponders switched off to avoid detection.

Kpler data showed that a Panama-flagged Supramax carrying minerals and a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier entered the waterway through an unidentified route.

Meanwhile, a crude oil tanker and a liquefied petroleum gas carrier came under attack in separate incidents while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, shipping intelligence and tracking firm Marisks Intelligence said on Tuesday.

The Isle of Man-flagged crude tanker LR Stephanie was hit by an unidentified projectile while entering the waterway on Monday, leaving two crew members with minor injuries, Marisks said in a report. LSEG data showed that the vessel is managed by Universal Tanker Corp.

The Liberia-flagged LPG tanker Al-Maryah was struck on Sunday while sailing out of the waterway, according to the report.

Both vessels were able to continue their journeys without requiring towing assistance, Marisks said.

“Responsibility for both incidents remains unconfirmed, and neither vessel has been identified on publicly reported Iranian Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) ‘non-compliant’ lists,” Marisks said.

At the Bab al-Mandab Strait at the southern entrance to the Red Sea, 26 vessels crossed on Monday, unchanged from the previous day.
