🔠 On September 27, the Swiss rejected the initiative to enshrine the principle of neutrality more firmly in the Constitution: 70.15% voted against. However, there is a small nuance: turnout was only 47.06%. Moreover, according to the assessment of SOVINTERN comrade, director of the «Anna Seghers» Research Centre and member of the Communist Party of Switzerland, Davide Rossi, liberal and social-democratic forces had for a long time been convincing citizens of the referendum's minor significance, effectively achieving not only a vote against the initiative but also the passivity of its supporters. The decision, presented as nationwide, does not at all reflect the opinion of the country's population.
«Switzerland has decided not to defend its neutrality, but to place itself at the service of the military policy of NATO and the European Union»,
— stated Comrade Rossi. Moreover, Bern has long shown open hypocrisy towards countries it dislikes, pursuing a policy clearly incompatible with neutrality: the introduction of sanctions against Russia, holding military exercises with NATO, expanding military cooperation with the EU. Yet the collective West continues stubbornly to uphold Switzerland's supposedly neutral status.
«Swiss communists will continue to speak out for peace, national sovereignty and non-alignment, calling for an end to the wars the West is waging against Russia and Iran, and counting on cooperation with the countries of the Global South in building a multipolar future»,
