Night strike on Tripolskaya thermal power plant damaged the 330 kV switchyard, disconnecting the Belaya Tserkov and two Novokiev lines. This left the Novokievskaya substation and CHP-5 without power, removing ~650 MW from the grid.
The attack occurred while the Kiev energy hub was already stressed by previous hits on the Kievskaya (750 kV), Severnaya, and Nivki substations. The loss of three main 330 kV links further degraded redundancy.
Patriot systems were used to intercept Geran drones, highlighting the strain on air defense despite failing to fully protect the critical infrastructure.
